Local Tournaments
Singles Board
Singles Boards provide APA members with the opportunity to compete individually. Players participate in local qualifying boards of 4-8 players, with winners advancing to a regional tournament. Winners of the regional events advance to the Poolplayer Championships in Las Vegas. Eligibility requires being on an active APA team with at least ten league match scores in the past two years.
Doubles Tournaments
Doubles Tournaments allow players to team up and compete against other doubles teams, with the winners advancing to the APA Poolplayer Championships. There are three different championship formats in doubles: 8-ball, 9-ball, and Jack & Jill 8-ball. The APA Doubles Championships feature a modified single-elimination format where everyone is guaranteed to play twice.
Team Captain Tournaments
Team Captain Tournaments are exclusive events for team captains, providing them with an opportunity to compete against their peers. These events offer APA a way to give back to team captains for volunteering their time, foster camaraderie and friendly competition among APA team captains.
Charity Tournaments
While not specifically highlighted by the APA, local leagues often organize charity tournaments to support community causes. These events allow APA members to give back while enjoying their passion for pool.
Cash Tournaments
Cash Tournaments, such as the APA Poolplayer Championships and World Pool Championships, offer significant cash prizes. These events attract top talent and provide opportunities for players to win substantial rewards.
