....Everyone Plays Pool In The APA....
Talk to your friends, neighbors, and co-workers. You'll find that they either play in the APA or know someone who does. It'll surprise you! Clerks, secretaries, janitors, lawyers, chiropractors, doctors, waitresses, truck drivers, bank tellers, and even school teachers ... all play pool in the APA Pool League. Over one fourth of APA members are female.
The APA is the World's Largest Amateur Pool League with more members than all other amateur leagues combined. Nationally, the APA currently boasts over 250,000 members (and growing). At the end of 2009, over 2,300 members played on 500+ teams weekly in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill area of the APA.
For those of you that might be thinking: "I'm not good enough to play", consider this; 75% of APA members are beginner to intermediate players, meaning you don't have to be a Pool Pro to play. The only thing you really need, is the desire to have fun!
With APA's Equalizer® Handicap System, everyone has an equal chance of winning.
Come Join the Excitement of APA!!!

07/23/2010 11:06:27 AM |
Recruit a Friend..... Get FREE APA League Play Have you ever thought about how much our league would grow if every player brought in a new member??? For the 2010 Fall Session, APA is going to pay you for getting your friends to join league!!! HOW DOES IT WORK??? - Bring in a friend to APA (even if you don’t have room on your team – the goal is to create new teams with “the friends” of existing members)
- Write your name on your friend’s membership application
- On week 7, as long as your friend paid their membership, you will receive a coupon for a free week of APA League Play
- Turn the coupon in for your free week of league play on your week of choice
It’s that easy!!! Start recruiting your friends and help our APA league grow!!!! **applicable green fees must still be paid to the host locations when using your free week of league play **player recruited must be new to APA - new meaning that the player has never played APA before or has not played APA in the last 3 sessions **two current members cannot claim one new recruit, only one free week of league play per new player

| Summer Captain/Co-Captain Scotch Doubles Tourney
07/12/2010 3:04:20 PM |
2010 Summer Session Captain/Co-Captain Scotch Doubles Tournament When: July 31, 2010 Where: High House Billiards Start Time: 12:00 Noon Entry Fee: $40.00 per team Handicap Max: 12
The Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill APA is proud to present the second ever Captain/Co-Captain Tournament. This tournament is open to all players that are serving as either a Captain or Co-Captain in the 2010 APA Spring Session. You must be listed first on the roster for your team to be considered the Captain and second on the roster for your team to be considered the Co-Captain. Players not listed first or second on their team roster are not eligible to participate in this tournament. Based on feedback from the last tournament and the online poll, we are going to try the tournament as a Scotch Doubles Tournament this session. 8-Ball and 9-Ball tournaments will take place simulataneously on the same day, so if you are a Captain/Co-Captain for both formats, you have to chose which format you would like to participate in. Masters team captains/co-captains can choose either 8-Ball or 9-Ball to participate in.
The Captain/Co-Captain Scotch Doubles Tournament is a pick your partner, handicap 12 tournament. You do not have to partner with the captain/co-captain of your team, you may choose a captain/co-captain from a different team. As long as the player is a captain/co-captain, they are eligible to participate and partner with any other captain/co-captain. Races for both 8-ball and 9-ball will be the team's handicap halved. Odd handicaps will be rounded up. For example, a combined handicap of 11 and a combined handicap of 10 will be a Skill Level 5/4 race in both 8-ball (games race in 8) and 9-ball (points race in 9).
If you are interested in participating in this tournament, click here to complete your online registration: http://apa-raleigh.com/forms/tournament_reg.asp. Pre-registration is required. Registration window closes on Thursday, July 29, 2010 @ 12:00 noon. All registered players must be at the tournament site no later than 11:45am on the day of the tournament or the player will lose his/her slot in the tournament.
Thank you to all of our APA Captains & Co-Captains....you help make this league fun and successful!
Note: Any player registered for the tournament that does not show up will still owe the entry fee, unless APA is notified 24 hours prior to the start of the event.
